Babylonstoren is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms, dating back to 1692. It has a fruit and vegetable garden of beauty and diversity, unique accommodation, fine food and a sense of wellbeing. Our wines are produced in a state-of-the-art winery and are made to showcase the soils and climate where its grapes are grown. We have 88 hectares under vine and produce 13 different grape varieties with our highest vines – pinot noir and chardonnay – lying against Simonsberg at some 600 metres above sea level.

Our wines are best exemplified by the Babylonstoren logo, which consists of the pipe (representing the farmer), the flower (representing the garden) and the bird (representing nature). It is a combination of the very essence of Babylonstoren – keeping things simple and as true to the earth as possible. "It is this that we strive to achieve in our wine," says Charl Coetzee. "Truth to the area we are situated in on the slopes of Simonsberg, and simplicity by making elegant and balanced wines as natural as possible."

Greyfriars Vineyard is located on the sunny south facing chalk slopes of the Hog’s Back at Puttenham, just outside Guildford in Surrey. The original vineyard was planted in 1989 and since taking over in 2010 we have expanded the area under vine to 40 acres on two sites, focusing on producing stunning English Sparkling Wine. We have also built a state of the art winery and a natural chalk underground cellar for ageing our wine prior to release.

Our vineyards are predominantly planted with the three classic Champagne grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. We produce a range of spectacular sparkling wines reflecting the unique local soil conditions, climate and heritage of the Surrey North Downs. We also produce several still wines, including a Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. Our wines have been extremely well received and have already won many prizes in international competitions, including a Gold Outstanding in the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2018 for our 2013 Blanc de Blancs and a Gold Medal and the English Sparkling Rosé Trophy in the International Wine Challenge 2019 for our 2014 Rosé Reserve.

Catalan wine; it’s incredible and certainly not normal…. we don’t do normal, or OK, or middle of the road. Nor do we look for the cheapest or most expensive. What we look for is the extraordinary, the unique, the bold and the intrepid. L’altreVi is just that, it’s the “other” wine. A specialist in Catalan wines, we import from small wine makers who live to create the incredible. Every wine has been chosen by us from wine makers we call our friends and as such we would like to invite you to sample their brilliant creations. L’altreVi only import what we consider to be the very best organic, biodynamic and natural wines.

Black Chalk is a wine proud of its English heritage, with roots firmly planted in the chalklands of southern England. We use the traditional method to create Black Chalk, using the tried and tested grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Award winning winemaker Jacob Leadley launched Black Chalk in 2018 with the help of his family members who are all part of the business. Since the launch, the award winning Black Chalk Wines have had a fantastic reception from the media and well respected industry professionals. Black Chalk have created a sparkling wine that showcases everything that Hampshire has to offer. The wines are fruit forward and complex. Jacob is a huge fan of Pinot Meunier, as he believes it grows particularly well in Hampshire and provides the Black Chalk with an abundance of red fruit, weight and depth. Finally, the branding is modern and fresh with the aim of promoting English Sparkling Wine to all generations. We hope you enjoy our wines, and we are looking forward to meeting everyone at the festival!

The Symingtons of Scottish, English and Portuguese descent have been port producers in northern Portugal for five generations since 1882. Today ten Symingtons work across their four famous port houses: Graham’s, Cockburn’s, Dow’s and Warre’s, as well as their Douro wine projects – Quinta do Vesuvio, Quinta do Ataíde, Altano and Prats & Symington (of Chryseia fame) – and a new venture, Quinta da Fonte Souto in the Alto Alentejo.

Symington Family Estates is a leading premium port producer and the family are the leading vineyard owners in the Douro, with 26 Quintas covering 2,240 ha and 1,024 ha of vineyard. Their vineyards are managed under sustainable viticulture practices and 112 ha are organically farmed, the largest area of organic vineyard in the Douro. Symington Family Estates is unique amongst the major port companies in that each working family member farms their own vineyard, alongside those under the family’s joint company ownership.

Gwinllan Conwy is an award-winning vineyard founded by wine enthusiasts Colin and Charlotte Bennett near the Snowdonia National Park. They work together with Vineyard Manager Sarah Stewart, also assisted by their girls Tillie and Hattie at harvest time.

First planted in 2012, the vineyard has grown each year to over 3 acres with 3000 vines.  These special hybrid grape varieties are chosen specifically to work well with the soil and climatic conditions in North Wales. These varieties impart a unique fresh and delicate style to the wines.

We are a UK based importer of artisan, organic wine from small independent producers in Italy.  We choose to work with sustainable, boutique winemakers, because we find they put a great deal more love and passion into their work, which creates carefully crafted wines.  These are real hard working farmers that are in tune with the seasons, who pour their heart and soul into producing the perfect, artisan bottle of organic wine. The rural farmers we work with produce less than 70,000 bottles of wine a year, which in contrast to the larger producers that sell in the region of 35 million a year, it makes the wines we source extremely exclusive.

All of the wines we source are created using organic methods, which involves the smallest amount of intervention from the winemaker, and no pesticides are used at all during the lifespan of the vines.

Our small estate of Podere Sant’Alberto is located 10 miles north of Siena, Tuscany, set in the foothills below Castellina in Chianti. The estate covers 12 hectares of vines, olive groves and mixed woodlands on a sloping terrain of clay with limestone deposits, at an elevation of 250 metres.

Italy is one of the leaders for organic vine growing since its climate makes such growing schemes relatively easy in most vintages. Our aim is to make both a natural wine and cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, taking fruit that is grown organically, then in the cellar adding nothing, while also not taking anything away.

Just off the A40, five miles west of Oxford lies Eynsham Cellars, Eynsham’s Indie Wine Shop. Owned and operated by enthusiastic 'wine dudes' Oli and Iain, their store welcomes everyone, even if they know nothing about wine. Navigate your way around 400 different wines, 60 bottled ales (mainly local brews), a wonderful selection of lagers and a dazzling spirit selection (the gins are growing at an alarming rate!). With a little guidance you will find everything from reliable midweek quaffers to fine Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne. When either of them aren't behind the counter there is a good chance they are out there searching for the next mind-blowing Argentinian Malbec, Otago Pinot Noir or Picpoul de Pinet. There is of course a focus on good old fashioned customer service and the two men love nothing more than finding you that perfect wine to accompany a meal, or enjoy with friends.

SOLARIS Wines is a new wine company created by Andrew Walker. After spending some 20+ years working in the wine trade he had the idea that it would be interesting to import wines from smaller producers in lesser known regions into the UK. The wines he has thus far launched have mostly been selected on personal visits to the regions and after extensive tasting and discussions with the producers. The parcels of wine he has purchased he believes represent real value for money, and often a point of difference from what is currently on the shelves of UK retailers. At the Oxford Wine Festival Solaris will be featuring their exciting range of wines newly arrived from the Tilia Estate, Slovenia and also a selection of ‘old world’ wines from France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

We are a locally family run independent wine merchant, in business for nearly 45 years and with continuous wine trade experience of over 50 years.  We also trade under the name of Peter Osborne Fine Wines.

We specialise in offering quality wines that will suit your palate and your pocket from many European and ‘New World’ countries. Interesting wines that you are unlikely to see in the supermarkets. Enquire about our excellent selections from France, Italy, Portugal, Austria and Germany.  From the ‘New World’ we have exceptional selections from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Argentina and mostly all exclusively shipped by ourselves!

Croatian Fine Wines is already the place to go for wines from the Balkans and our range continues to grow. Having started with wines from Croatia, we now have wines from that country, Slovenia, Bosnia and now Macedonia and soon, thanks to some excellent detective work, from Bulgaria also. We continue to increase new countries and new winemakers as often as we discovery quality wines and we visit each winemaker at least once per year, maintaining a strong relationship with them and constantly increasing our knowledge of the countries, the terroir, the grapes and the wines.

Whilst it is always interesting to see how different winemakers use international varieties, the fascination, for us, lies predominantly in the indigenous grapes of the various countries. Being present at many retail and trade shows has demonstrated to us that these are also the wines that fascinate others. Fortunately for us, the quality remains high whilst the price remains competitive and often lower than might be expected, allowing us to offer genuine value for money to our customers.

At Grace Wines we understand that you cannot produce good wines from bad grapes. From vine to bottle the wine philosophy is focused on quality rather than quantity.
